Bus Service Information
The Steiner School has a morning and afternoon service with Davis Bus Company public buses.
The morning bus departs Little Bridge St. at 8.30am with Graeme our very helpful and friendly driver. The stop is directly opposite the USF pharmacy on Little Bridge Street. As this stop can be very busy, it may be easier to catch the bus further up Sturt Street outside St. Patricks Cathederal. There is a bus stop there with easy parking just over Dawson Street South on the South Side.
The bus can be caught from any stop along Sturt Street or Drummond Street and then Skipton and Albert Streets in Sebastopol. The Bus travels to the school to arrive at approximately 8.45 and on to Ballarat University or Buninyong. A parent accompanies the children every morning on this bus which is through a roster system.
In the afternoon, the bus picks the children up from the school at 3.45pm and drops them off at the L.T.Fraser Reserve in Main Rd. The children travel alone in the afternoon and although it is a public bus, the bus does not pick up other passengers nor stop at any other stop.
The bus has been a huge success, with over 20 students from prep to class six using the bus service daily. This results in fewer cars at the school and a great saving in time and fuel. It also works very well for the children to have a relaxing social start to the day.
Ordinary bus fares apply which can be fully refunded through the conveyance allowance scheme.
